Looking Across the Lake celebrates 25 years of the City of Joondalup Art Collection, bringing together commissioned essays, artist conversations and archival material to reflect on cultural identity, place and belonging.

The design embraces an eclectic editorial language, layering contemporary photography with archival, found and manipulated imagery.

The publication comprises a section-sewn softcover book with a cloth-covered spine, housed within a hand-crafted cloth-bound clamshell box. A detached concertina-folded insert extends the publication beyond the book format, unfolding into a poster-like object that references the temporary architecture of the Invitation Art Prize exhibition and encourages new ways of engaging with the collection.
