A Field Guide for… is an ongoing publication series commissioned by Perth Festival to accompany its annual Visual Arts Program. Conceived as portable companions rather than traditional exhibition catalogues, the publications bring together newly commissioned essays, artist projects and photography within a considered editorial framework that extends the experience of the festival beyond the gallery.

A Field Guide for Stargazing, 2023. Responding to the festival’s thematic of Djinda (a Noongar word meaning ‘star’), the publication features original writing by Noongar writer and researcher Cass Lynch, artistic responses by Sara Morawetz and Patrick Pound, and a republished piece of fiction by Anna Dunnill. Cover artwork is taken from Pound's work, Constellation: from the observatory of unhinged planets.
